Beauty and the Geek renewed; 30 Days, Hell’s Kitchen move up while Hit Me falls

The WB’s unlikely hit, Beauty and the Geek, will return for a second season. Last week, it led all other WB shows with 4.5 million viewers. Ugly smart guys and hot dumb girls, get your applications ready for when they start casting.

In other ratings news, FOX’s Hell’s Kitchen, which is my favorite show so far this summer, “is starting to show some fire,” according to E!. It was the 22nd most popular show last week with 7.5 million viewers. My other favorite summer reality offering is FX’s 30 Days, which kicked off strong for FX. The debut was watched by 1.7 million–big numbers for FX.

While Dancing with the Stars continues to dominate the summer–15.7 million watched the top-rated show last week–NBC’s Hit Me Baby One More Time is falling faster than the careers of the former hitmakers who appear on the show. Six million watched, which made it NBC’s most popular show, but it dropped to 37th place overall.
